Spanish Language, Culture, and Business in Rosario

Program Overview

Rapidly improve your Spanish while exploring the local culture in and around Rosario, Argentina. This program is ideal for students who want to complete a second year of Spanish in an intensive summer session or who wish to take advanced courses in Hispanic linguistics, advanced writing, language and society, or electives on Latin American and Argentine culture during summer or fall term. All courses are taught in Spanish making this program ideal for Spanish majors and minors or for those interested in Latin American and International Studies.  If you are a less experienced Spanish-speaker planning to enroll in the fall program, we encourage you to consider an intensive summer session to help build language proficiency.

The program includes multiple excursions outside the city, as well as extensive use of historic and cultural activities within Rosario for academic excursions. In addition, you will live in a homestay, which further supports your immersion into Argentine society and culture.

A supervised Internship and Independent Research program is also available to qualified students who are committed to gaining a unique perspective into Argentine life. During summer term, this option is offered as a four-week program starting right after the six-week Spanish program. During fall term, it is offered as a course option.

Internship and independent research is also a course option for fall term students.

Courses are taught by local instructors, experienced in teaching U.S. students. Classes take place Monday-Thursday and include extensive academic excursions, allowing you to experience Argentina beyond the pages of your textbooks. You will also have meet local students at the Universidad Nacional de Rosario to take part in lively debate and dialogue on current events and issues.
