Welcome to Western Oregon University!
Western Oregon University is among the top 20
small state schools in the Country!
As Oregon's most popular mid-sized public university, WOU is a wonderful blend of small classes and personal connections between students, faculty, and staff - along with global opportunities to grow and be challenged.
CLASSES: At Western, students enjoy an unusual degree of academic freedom. Undergraduate programs at WOU maximize individual and professional development and include a general education program built around the Liberal Arts Core Curriculum (LACC) where students have an opportunity to develop skills in essential areas such as writing, communication studies, mathematics, and computer science, as well as familiarity with the humanities social sciences, arts and natural sciences.
HOUSING: No matter which residence hall you choose, every room comes with phone, internet and cable access. Free
wireless access is available to all WOU students. You're welcome to decorate and make the room yours.
The washers and dryers in the residence halls are coin-free for on-campus residents! Which means you don't have to take an entire term's load of laundry to mom on your next break! Our laundry rooms are right in the residence halls, and you can even get a text message alerting you when your clothes are dry or when the next washing machine is available. The folding and putting away tasks are still on you, though. Students also have the option of living off campus. Explore this link to learn more about those options.

DINING: Valsetz dining hall and food court had unlimited options all in different sections of the dining hall - Carbo Centre, Centre Stage, Deli and Soup Du Jour, Homestyle, Salad Bar, Valsetz Baking Co, Wok'n Waflle and even a Cafe down the block that offers all sorts of coffee drinks. Including their most popular drink -- a flavored Red Bull!
The Health and Wellness Center: The center is a 45,000 square foot addition to the Old P.E. gymnasium and WOU Aquatic Center. The facility features a two-court gymnasium with an elevated track, two racquetball courts, three multipurpose rooms, a 2,400 sq. ft. strength and weight training area, a 3,600 sq ft. cardiovascular training area, a 40-foot-high by 40-foot-wide rock climbing wall, locker rooms, lounge areas with wireless internet, and the remodeled pool with additional therapy pool!
