La Vida Local

On the Semester at University of Sydney program, you’ll begin your semester with a CISabroad orientation, which will introduce you to life in Sydney. You’ll quickly become fully immersed in Australian culture!

CISabroad Adventure Orientation

Start off your semester with a 4 day/3 night orientation exploring the Great Barrier Reef! This orientation will provide you with a unique look into Australian culture and its iconic wildlife. You will have the opportunity to explore the rain forest, indigenous communities, and the largest tropical coral reef system in the world! You'll also be able to cross holding koalas, snorkeling, and feeding kangaroos off your bucket list!

For the Semester at University of Sydney program with CISabroad, there are two 13-week semesters will be offered, one beginning in March and the second beginning July.

GPA Required: 2.8.  Do not worry if you find your GPA is lower than the required number!  You can contact us via the “Contact an Advisor” button on this page or call us to explain your situation.  We’ll do everything we can to find the correct program for you!

How to choose your courses: This is the fun part!  Part of the application process requires you to fill out a CISabroad Course Selection Worksheet that can be found in the CISabroad Application Page.  The instructions for choosing your courses can be found below.

Course load: 4 classes (12-16 U.S. credits)

Course approval: It is best if you are able to get 7-8 classes approved before heading overseas.  This will give you some flexibility when setting up your class schedule.  Make sure to consider the courses that are required for your major, but also think about classes that fulfill any elective requirements that you may have.
