On the Semester at University of Melbourne program, you’ll begin your time in Australia with a CISabroad orientation that will introduce you to life in Melbourne. Try a dose of sport while you’re there - Melbourne is mad for cricket, Aussie Rules football, name it! 

CISabroad Adventure Orientation
Start off your semester with a 4 day/3 night orientation exploring the Great Barrier Reef! This orientation will provide you with a unique look into Australian culture and its iconic wildlife. You will have the opportunity to explore the rain forest, indigenous communities, and the largest tropical coral reef system in the world! You'll also be able to cross holding koalas, snorkeling, and feeding kangaroos off your bucket list!


Semester the University of Melbourne offers two 19-week semesters. You can easily find a semester that fits with your study abroad schedule. 

GPA Required: 3.0. If you find your GPA is lower than the requirement, do not despair! Use the "Contact An Advisor" button on this page or call us to let us know your situation. We'll do all we can to find the right program for you.

Course selection: Now the fun part! As part of the application process you will be required to complete the CISabroad Course Selection Worksheet found in the CISabroad Application Page.

Course load: 3-4 courses (3-12 U.S. Credits) 

Course approval: Although you will only take 3–4 classes, it is best to meet with your current academic advisor and obtain approval for 8–10 classes. Courses are generally approved as requirements for your major, but also as elective credits.
