Program Description:
Imagine spending your summer in the scenic seaside city of Sorrento, the gateway to the Amalfi Coast.  Study Italian, Marine Biology, Volcanology, International Tourism, and Sustainability by day, and retreat to the romantic piazzas overlooking the sea by night.  As you stroll the uneven cobblestone streets, stop to take in the live local music and experience amazing Italian cuisine

The Sant’anna Institute encourages students to become members of the community during their time abroad.  A variety of civic engagement and service learning opportunities are available to help you get involved in the local community.  Whether it be a beach clean up, lending a hand to a non-profit, or volunteering to practice conversational English with locals, you’ll make wonderful memories in Sorrento.

Coastal Mountain Town

The city of Sorrento is situated between the sea and the mountains, providing plenty of opportunities for swimming in the blue-green waters or hiking through the lush hills.  Trek through the abundant lemon, orange, and olive groves as well!

Specialized Courses

The Sant’Anna Institute has a robust offering of Italian language courses to meet you at any level.  Not only can you expand your Italian language and history, but you will also have the opportunity to take unique courses in the Natural Sciences, like Volcanology.

La Vida Local

Students are encouraged to get involved within the local community through a group beach clean up day as well as through several other service-learning opportunities.
